Angelica begins as a Victorian ghost story and ends as a psychological novel. In a manner similar to The Instance of the Fingerpost, the story is told and retold four times: first from the view of the hysterical, haunted mother, second from the charlatan spiritualist and third, from the cold, domineering father/5.

ANGELICA is a book I could not put down. I could have finished it in two days but saved the last thirty pages for the following day, because I didn't want it to end. Aside from the masterful storytelling that gave me all the suspense and excitement of a good read, this is a brilliant and thought-provoking book on several levels/5(31).

I actually think Angelica was a bit less inspired and feels a bit rushed and less polished. However, Shinn's characters are still quite wonderful and full bodied and easy to love and very human.

As a bonus she takes more time in this book to /5(49). As a whole I enjoyed the storyline and plot and fully plan on reading Dominic, the next book in the series. Angelica is a badass heroine, who doesn't take crap, can hold her own and is lethal as an assassin.

The same people who drew first blood killing her family are the same ones she's sworn vengeance upon/5. Reading this book rounded out my understanding of Mother Angelica and all she accomplished.

This is an even-handed representation of all that occurred, and I definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to know more about Mother Angelica.

The first three books of the Samaria series have a special place in my heart (I especially love The Alleluia Files), but Angelica doesnt quite live up to its predecessors.

This book is set farther back in time than the other three (before Archangel). An odd choice, but I was willing to roll with it.4/5. EWTN Religious Catalogue provides good books, beautiful artwork, statues, rosaries and other holy reminders to strengthen the faith and family.

Angelique made it to the top of the French world, on her own (with some occasional support of countless male suitors) using her intelligence, grit and a few unpalatable tricks, which seem well justified as her cause is to make sure that her children gain back everything they lost/5(29).
